Simply Chic

I recently attended a pop up boutique for M Dot Design Studio at the W Hotel, San Francisco. It was great to mingle with other bloggers over wine and see all the handmade, limited edition pieces from the collection, as well as one of a kind jewelry from designers in Southern California. The fabrics were so rich, the jewelry fun and versatile. Everything featured had a boho chic quality that I love for summer!
I met with Michelle Aquino, the designer behind M Dot, for a chat about the brand and her designs. All of her designs are made in small runs of about three pieces per color way in order to set the brand apart from mass produced fashion. She is dedicated to making her clients look and feel beautiful in her designs and individually tailors every piece to their body.
Six Sigma Ranch featured their wine, which was amazingly smooth and tasty! They are located here in Northern California and are dedicated to practicing natural and sustainable farming. Local and organic is always a plus in my record book! Can someone say day trip? Sift Cupcakes + Dessert Bar, sold their gourmet cupcakes at the event. I had an incredibly delicious Pink Champagne cupcake! Never heard of a champagne cupcake? I hadn’t either. I spoke with Sift’s Marketing Director who told me they top the raspberry cupcake with champagne frosting. The raspberry cake was so moist and the champagne frosting complimented every yummy bite. All I have to say is keep me away! Eating these babies in moderation is not an option!
I had a short window to snap a few shots of my outfit while on my way to the event. When choosing an outfit to wear, as usual, I needed something that was easy for running around town throughout the day, but still appropriate for the bar at night. I went with slim black slacks paired with a loose fit white T-shirt to keep the look effortless and cool.  As for accessories, I tend to keep my choices simple, yet meaningful. For color, I wore a statement necklace borrowed from a friend, my grandmother’s handbag for a hint of glamour, and a watch from my great-aunt for confidence.
